Hunting
and What to expect at Longbeard Farms:
First
and foremost…this is YOUR hunt. We want you to have an enjoyable
experience at Longbeard Farms. We want to accommodate you in every
way possible. However, if we don't know your thoughts we can't
provide service to you at the highest degree. Please communicate
with the staff and let us know how we can best tailor to meet
your individual needs.
Your
typical day will begin with a wakeup call about an hour and a
half before daylight. Coffee will be brewing and "Mennonite" cinnamon
rolls will be waiting for you. Your guide will discuss with you
the stand location options for the morning hunt based on the wind
direction and weather forecast. You will be transported by truck
or custom golf cart to your hunting location and once there the
guide will help you get settled in the stand and then leave you
to enjoy your hunt.
Your
guide will be back to pick you up around 10 a.m. (unless you've
requested an earlier pickup) and will take you back to the lodge
to enjoy one of the best breakfasts you've ever eaten. Some down
time is available around midday (unless you'd rather hunt) for
napping, sightseeing, etc. Then it's off to the woods around 2
p.m. for the afternoon hunt until dark and then back to the lodge
for a huge southern style supper. The bed will be a welcome sight
once you've filled up at supper.
All
guides have cell phones and 2 way radios in the event of an emergency
or if you need some help in tracking a deer.
Once
you have taken your game or are tired of hunting we have fishing
available in Magnolia Lake as well as sporting clays shooting
available through our sister plantation, Cedar Farms. We also
offer guided tours of the Longbeard Farms property upon request.
